When I was a kid, I loved to go fishing. During my Junior High years, mom would drop me and a couple friends at a lake and we would fish all day long. When I got old enough, I’d ride my bike.
One morning, I really hit the jackpot! Just like the family cat after a hunt, I just HAD to show my catch to mom. I came rushing in with a stringer of stinky, dripping fish – and you can about guess what mom said: TAKE IT OUTSIDE!
Well, this summer we’re “taking it outside” at PCC – albeit for altogether very different reasons!
We’ve already been involved in a couple open-air preaching events with the GO ministry. We got a lot of fresh air during our “Passport to Peru” Vacation Bible School. And we’re capping off by TAKING IT OUTSIDE in (downtown) Lunenburg!
From 8:30 – 9:30 on Sunday, August 26th we will gather for worship at the Gazebo. We will start off with music and refreshments, and we will finish up with a message of the Good News of Jesus Christ. In Christ, God has come to join us and lead us to victory in running the good race.
After that, we’ll invite everyone to participate in the Lunenburg Boys and Girls Club annual “Color Run” fundraiser. The club provides a great service for our community’s young people, and we want to support them. As church, our mission is “Seeking Jesus, Serving Others” and we know by the witness of Christ that serving others means participation, provision, and presence. So join the run, are join the crowd cheering them on! Just as you can’t catch fish unless you take it outside, you can’t witness to others the goodness of God when you stay inside the walls of the church. So join us and let’s…
TAKE IT OUTSIDE!
